The Scottish Golf Player Colin Montgomerie who has been Europe’s top player for seven times would unfortunately be missing from the upcoming US Masters scheduled for next week. Reason being, he is not ranked inside the current World’s top 50 players and as a result could not receive an invite from the hosts. Masters are going to be played at the challenging Augusta course in Georgia.

Some of the late invitees to the very reputed tournament have been Briton Graeme McDowell, Tom Lehman, Joe Ogilvie, Craig Parry, and Tim Clark. In all, the Masters’ organizers have invited around 101 players. Some of the ageing players invited for the tournament are expected to decline the invitation as it is quite clear that they can no longer be competitive at this stage against the finest players of today.

In fact, four-time champion Arnold Palmer would skip playing the tournament in spite of his presence at the event. Another Golf great in Jack Nicklaus would be absent after a personal tragedy. The event scheduled to be played 7-10 April was won by America’s Phil Mickelson last year by the narrowest of margin from South Africa’s Ernie Els.
