Australian golfer Peter Lonard is seeking his first win on the PGA Tour. And he is quite close to achieving that. Peter just regained the lead on Saturday at the MCI Heritage after shooting a 5-under-par 66 for a one-stroke lead over Darren Clarke. They are being closely followed by Davis Love III in the tournament. His score at the end of the play was 11-under 202.

Darren Clarke shot a round of 73 to fell to second place while Rod Pampling and Davis Love III followed him with a round of 68 and 69 for aggregate scores of 207 and 208 respectively. With this performance, Peter would be entering the final round having a lead over the rest of the field for the first time in four tour seasons.

He spoke to the press about this performance: “In theory, it shouldn’t be any different. I’ll relax, have a few beers, and talk rubbish with my mates. I’ll do the same things I’ve always done.” His tally was helped by a poor round of golf from Darren Clarke who at one stage entered the round with his best 36-hole score ever, 12-under 130, well for a six-stroke lead.
