NORMAN, Okla. – Country music star Toby Keith plans to bring back a charity golf event for a second year.
The “Toby Keith & Friends Golf Classic” next month will again benefit Ally’s House, an organization named after the daughter of Scott Webb, a former bandmate, who died of cancer in 2003. The inaugural event last year raised more than $250,000.
“The event was an incredible success last year,” Keith said in a news release. “And this year we’ll step it up another notch for these kids.”
Keith and other special guests will perform during a pre-party and concert May 6 at the Bricktown Coca-Cola Event Center in downtown Oklahoma City that also will include a silent auction.
Golf teams will randomly draw a celebrity partner to join them during the tournament the next day.
Ally’s House helps defray the cost of cancer treatment, short-term housing near hospitals, groceries, hospice and funeral expenses.
